Vancouver's crafters at Got Craft?

Vancouver is filled with artsy people -- it's one thing I really missed about the city while abroad. I saw a lot of great jewelry/dolls/leatherwork at the Got Craft? event on Commercial Drive (where else)? this past Sunday. A very rough sketch of one of the vendors, Hudsonny, with adorable stuffed dolls and accessories and such. Not entirely accurate but all I could conjure up for now.

And a *very* rough in-progress colour version below:

Crafting is lovely way to spend your free time. In my case, half of it is about frugal entertainment, the other is about rage control ("Why the F#$% won't this ribbon stay where it's told?!). The one question that occasionally pops into mind is what all the crafters will do when the trend spreads, and who will be left to buy their awesome wares when every stockbroker in town is thinking, "by golly, I think I can make my own pillows and necklaces!"

Then I actually tried to make some jewelry and realized that it's better to buy from the pros T-T.... Local pros, that is, not exhausted factory-workers in China.
